Our Daily Bread

Our Daily Art - Our Daily Bread....

...literally and figuratively speaking....

....either because we try to earn a living from our art or because we feel this inner urge to create or both...

...and the last blog of the "21-Day Mixed Media Challenge" was so much fun that I don't want to stop....making art every day and inspiring others to be creative from their hearts and souls...

So, here we are....creating again....this time we are all winners and can post whenever we feel like it - share your art, any creative ideas, thoughts or exercises any day that will inspire yourself and others to make ART!

Music, poems, paintings, collage, sewing, quilting, creative writing, photography,...all goes!

Post your own ideas and comments or send pictures of your creations to my email:   artaccess@shaw.ca and I'll post it on this blog with your name and link to your website, blog, etc.

This Blog can become a tool to inspire, network, share and collaborate with others!

So, join in, spread the word by letting people know about this blog, "like" it here and "share" it on fb!

Here is my image for the day and a suggestion for some creative writing that could lead into a story, painting or who knows....it's a pretty mixed bag right this moment!?:)

The artist I am listening to as I write this blog:

Cat Power

I realize the above image and music don't really seem go together right now, but it is what is it at this very moment and you never know how it might be connected ?! :)

CREATIVE EXERCISE I:

This writing exercise is a another story, literally: "Go outside and observe a street scene. Pick out a man and woman together and write down everything they do until you get to 20 items.  The man may touch the woman's arm. Write it down. She may run her hand through her hair. Write it down. She may shake her head. He may lean in toward her. She may pull away or lean in toward him. She may put her hands in her pockets or search for something in her purse.  He may turn his head to watch another woman walking by. Write it all down. It shouldn't take you very long to acquire 20 items.

If you study the list, it shouldn't be hard to apply your imagination to it and come up with a story about the couple. Are they friends, would-be-lovers, brother and sister, work colleagues, adulterers, neighbours who run into each other on the street? Are they fighting or braking up or falling in love or planning a weekend together or debating which movie they want to see? The details on your list provide plenty of material for a short story or collage or painting, but that is not the goal of this exercise"....more on tomorrow's blog... (Twyla Tharp, The Creative Habit, 2003).

Good night and until tomorrow...who knows what the next day will bring....!?

Blessings and light,
Susanne
